Who we are?
We are a family from Ukraine, and our story is one of loss, hope, and new beginnings.
Before the war, our lives were full of joy, hard work, and dreams. We built a beautiful two-storey family house in Kharkiv region, Ukraine near the Russian border — a place filled with laughter, friends, and plans for the future. We loved nature: carp fishing, mushroom picking in the woods, travelling across Europe — always enjoying life to the fullest.
When the war began, everything changed overnight. Our dream family house was destroyed by three missiles landed up on it. For seven days we hid in our basement, trapped under shelling, without food or water. Those were the hardest days of our lives — days we will never forget. But by a miracle, we survived.
With only a few belongings, we left Ukraine and arrived in London just two months after the war started. We knew nobody, spoke almost no English, and had to start completely from scratch. It felt like being born again — in a new country, a new world.
The first months were tough, but London gave us a chance — and we worked hard to make the most of it. We studied English day and night, learned how life and business work in the UK, and helped our child adapt to a new school. Today, he speaks English fluently, and we can proudly say that London has become our home.
Now, after three years of rebuilding our lives, we’ve created something that combines our passion, our values, and our gratitude to this country — ALYUR.
